Each color pattern is painted to resemble common baitfish found along the Gulf Coast, including whiting, blue runner, mullet, and bluefish. Every pattern features a lighter-colored belly to create a more natural presentation from below. Predatory fish are often looking upward as they track bait near the surface, which makes the underside of the lure one of the most important parts of the presentation. The lighter belly helps mimic the natural appearance of baitfish while the popper’s action creates the disturbance needed to get noticed.
