The CID Assassin Rapid Spin Zero Surf Fishing Rod is a more affordable option than the Kobmaster and features a lure rating of 1oz to 3oz. It can definitely be used for set rig fishing, but at Panhandle Salt, we mainly use this rod to throw lures out deep.

On a typical day on the beach, sight fishing for reds, jacks, Spanish mackerel, and bluefish, we like to carry a 9' rod with a maximum lure capacity of 2oz, along with the Rapid Spin Zero in case we need to reach farther with heavier lures. Fishing with these two rods keeps us prepared for whatever we face on the sand.

The 11' Rapid Spin Zero XXH pairs well with a Piscifun Nautix 3000 or 4000, spooled with 15 to 20 lb Land Line Braid. It shines when throwing lures in the 2oz to 2.75oz range and is an excellent choice for anglers looking to maximize casting distance while maintaining lure control. Recommended reel size: 3000 to 5000 series, depending on your targeted species.
